Remember the promise.
Keep the connection.
The photos you said you’d send. The build someone offered to test. A personal follow-up with its context still attached.
Keep the next step with the conversation.
Ask what you promised to send, open the original message and set a personal follow-up. Include the person and timing so the intention is clear. Continue the conversation to change it as plans move. Before following up, review what has changed; before a call, bring the context into Preparation.
He’s back in town. You have years to catch up on.
Keep the next step specific
Write down who is involved, what you agreed to do and the date or situation that makes it relevant. “Send Mina the restaurant address before Saturday” gives you a clearer next step than “catch up.”
Before you act, read the original conversation. Plans change; someone may already have sent what you need. Keep your own reminders proportionate to the relationship and remove a task that no longer matters.
For a broader habit, read how to keep in touch with people.
